Mission update

Hello everybody! So if you haven't found out by now then I'm telling you now. I'm going to serve an LDS mission for the Lord. I posted a status on facebook what I feel to be a good "platform" for why I would like to serve a mission. I simply said "Every single person on this earth fought Satan in the pre-earth life and chose to come down to earth and fulfill God's plan. It is up to us, through missionary work, to remind those who have forgotten." Reading that just gets me so excited and pumped! It's also an added bonus of living on my own and gaining that experience. I get to submit (yes submit, it's all electronic now) my papers in on March 1st and I can't wait! No I haven't told Elder Clay Hutchings yet. I was going to make it a surprise to him by recording a video of me opening my call and sending it to him. Now I'm not sure. I'm thinkin I need to tell him before that. But I'm still thinkin about what I should do.
Anyways. So of course I had to have a doctors and dentist appointment and both were not fun. I don't like the dentist and I had an interesting doctors visit this time around. So far I've been stabbed 3 times by a needle and I get to be stabbed again before I leave. Not fun.
I'm taking a mission prep class right now at the Institute and am starting to look into a temple prep class. My mission prep class is going great! I'm learning great things of how to teach this wonderful gospel! My teacher has challenged our class a couple times to adopt a scripture study time and that's been a little difficult for me to get into. I really want to take the challenge but reading isn't my strong suit. Plus studying (and pondering and reverting and seeking) isn't the easiest thing. But I know serving and preparing for a mission is hard but I hear it's worth it :)

  1. Linds, I am super proud of you. I know we talked, but I wanted to remind you that you will never, ever, ever, regret going on a mission. It is hard, but that's is the best reason to do it. Your testimony will strengthen 10 fold, and your children will be blessed because of the decision you are making now. I can't tell you how strongly I feel that I have been blessed in my own life, in my marriage, and in my children's lives because of the decision I made to serve a mission. Keep us posted! And I think anytime you tell Clay is a good time :)

  2. You'll love your mission, hopefully you go to the best one in the world (British Columbia, of course). But remember, if you are invited to a dinner appointment and the meat they serve is full of that rainbow-ey shiny gimmery stuff on it then don't eat it or else you will have a story to tell...
